Our Review

The Jenny Craig diet program offers ready packaged meals, advice on exercise and a multitude of other products. When you join a Jenny Craig Program you can choose to attend meetings with counselors, over the telephone or via the website.

The menus consist of the Jenny craig ready meals in the correct proportions for one person and work out around 1300 calories per day. This can be posted to you. You are encouraged to take up sensible lifestyle exercise and advice is available from counselors to encourage and aid you. The meals are healthy and nutritional, even though many experts would advise a slightly higher calorie intake if you are doing exercise.

The program is supposed to gradually teach you to manage food effectively and move from the ready meals to planning your own meals. There is of course a full range of Jenny Craig cook books to help you along the way.

One of the problems former Jenny Craig customers have complained about is the qualifications of the councilors. Some saying that the councilors felt more like sales people, pushing the Jenny Craig products rather than offering sound advice.

The Good

  • Convenient frozen meals
  • Nutritionally sound calorie controlled principles
  • Encourages healthy exercise

The Bad

  • Expensive
  • Difficult when eating out
  • No scientific proof of long term weight loss
